The china and the dishes, the bookshelf, the linen closet, the bedroom drawers, all of it gets boxed, and that does mean the garage and the under-stair cubby nobody wants to face. Do it in a two-story tract and those cartons have to come back down a turning staircase; do it in a Delta home and you’re contending with the long approach and the afternoon heat. Room by room the crew clears the space, wraps each item the right way, and loads the truck so nothing shifts position on the road.

Day before or morning of
A full house we’ll generally pack the day before, so move day becomes loading and the drive and nothing else. Somewhere smaller can be packed and relocated within a single morning, which on a triple-digit Delta day carries the extra payoff of beating the worst of the sun.
